Sugar cane, bananas, citrus and coconuts were imported by the British, Spanish, other Europeans and the African slaves. This lush, perfumed Eden overflows with palm trees, mountains, forests and nearly 3,000 varieties of flowering plants including 800 found nowhere else in the world.
